Steve Mozer | LDI Instructor

To make a difference in the lives of students, Steve Mozer is an instructor at LDI who believes in our mission and the students he works with. He began his career as a laborer in the construction industry where after dedication, commitment and hard work, he became Vice President of Construction. His responsibilities included sales, engineering, plant construction, field operations and most importantly, ensuring customer satisfaction for all projects west of Texas.

At the age of 40, Steve suffered a cerebral aneurysm and had to face the challenges of overcoming disabilities associated with a stroke. Having attended numerous classes in Computer Technology, coupled with mainstream classes, he received his AA degree in Psychology at Santa Ana Community College and a BA degree from California State University at Fullerton. During this time, he continued to tutor students with learning disabilities in the classes he attended at SACC prior to moving to Phoenix.

Once settled, Steve accepted a position at Paradise Valley Community College tutoring student with special needs. In the spring of 2006, Steve began volunteering his services at LDI. He brought with him his personal experiences, challenges and knowledge of the struggles individuals with hidden disabilities face. He is able to offer a different approach to our students with a perspective of “inside out.”

The best part of Steve’s job is to know that hidden disabilities can be confronted and overcome with the right approach. He believes that if he can graduate from college at 53 years old with hidden disabilities, anyone can reach their individual achievable goals.
